SEVENTEEN is a popular South Korean boy band that was formed by Pledis Entertainment. The group comprises of thirteen members, namely S.Coups, Jeonghan, Joshua, Jun, Hoshi, Wonwoo, Woozi, DK, Mingyu, The8, Seungkwan, Vernon, and Dino. Since its debut, Seventeen has gained a massive following and has become a well-known K-Pop group with unique music and performances that are recognized worldwide.

The music group Seventeen made their debut on May 26, 2015, with their extended play (EP) titled "17 Carat". The album became the longest-charting K-pop album of the year in the US and was the only rookie album to feature on Billboard's "10 Best K-Pop Albums of 2015" list. Since then, Seventeen has released four studio albums, twelve EPs and three reissues.

Seventeen is an idol group known for being "self-producing". Its members are actively involved in various aspects of their music and performances, including songwriting, music production, and choreography. The group performs as one, but is divided into three units, each specializing in a different area: hip-hop, vocal, and performance. They have earned a reputation as "Performance Kings", "Theater Kids of K-Pop", and "K-Pop Performance Powerhouse" by both local and international media outlets.

The K-pop group Seventeen got its name from the expression "13 members + 3 units + 1 group". This represents how the 13 members are divided into three different units and come together to form one cohesive group. Originally, the name referred to how 17 members (including four former pre-debut trainees — Jang Do-yoon, Samuel Kim, Shin Dong-jin, and Yao Mingming) planned to debut.
